I spent all last weekend studying because this week I had two midterm exams. If that wasn't sad enough, it was my hometown annual holiday. The city is beautiful during this period, the streets are full of stands where you can buy almost anything, from clothes to cotton candy or "panellets", the typical catalan autumn sweet little pastries. Moreover, there are music concerts every night and party outdoors.
Unfortunately I couldn't enjoy all that but I managed to went out to have dinner with my boyfriend on friday evening. It was kind of a date, and I like that! I like that two years after we started our relationship he still picks me up and takes me to a good place for dinner like in the beginning.
That was my outfit, easy but nice: black skinny jeans, basic white tee, black and grey tweed blazer, black leather bag, ballerinas and a cozy scarf. Now seeing the pictures I think I might have added a pretty golden necklace, I'll do it the next time.
Artusi is a cute restaurant in the famous old centre of Girona where we can actually find lots of beautiful restaurants of all kind and types. They offer traditional food but cooked and served in a pretty way. I went for this "Timbal d'escalivada", a mix of baked red pepper, aubergine and onion topped with goat cheese. One of my favorites!
He preferred a chestnut cream with crispy bacon that was really good, and very autumnal!
By the way, sorry about this post's pictures quality...I did not bring my big camera to dinner and were taken with my smartphone..
Followed by smoothed cod with smashed potatoes and crunchy artichoke for me, and duck with cus-cus for him.
I felt full and naughty so I went for some plain yoghurt with fig marmalade for dessert (trying to be a bit healthy after all..) and he had a delicious "ratafia" crème caramel. Ratafia is a catalan liquor, sweet but a bit strong for me, very used in desserts.
I though this lovely pudding deserved two pics haha
Saint Mireia here, right?
And here we are! We're beginners here..not used to take pictures each other while having dinner. He just couldn't stop laughing! But we'll improve, I promise.
Some good news: the exams went good and this weekend I have very few work so I'm ready to enjoy Girona's holiday which finishes this sunday!!!!!
