St Valentine's strawberry hearts

Late. Very late, I know. But hey everyday is a god day to surprise our beloved ones, right?

We don't really celebrate St Valentine's Day here in Catalonia. We have our own St Jordi thing with books and red roses all around in April, such a beautiful day. However, it's an occasion to have a special dinner or to do something cute and romantic… Just what I did: strawberry-chocolate hearts!

Needed:

-Strawberries  (as much as hearts you want to do)
-Dark chocolate
-White chocolate
-Skewers or toothpicks

SORRY about the bad quality of the pics..It's veeery difficult to cook and take good pictures at the same time

I think this DIY is very visual and thus I tried to take a picture of every single step, but I'll try to explain it too.

Clean and cut the strawberries in symmetric halves. Place them on a flat surface and VERY carefully introduce the toothpick joining both halves.

Empty a bit each half so we can fill them. The original recipe used marshmallow but I don't like it so I used white chocolate, which I love :D

I may have had one, or two.

Chop and melt your dark chocolate until smooth, then cover each heart with it. We want a thick layer because the chocolate will be the "glue" between both halves when we remove the toothpicks.

Wait until it is completely dried and hard enough and then very carefully remove the toothpicks and if everything has been done properly, the harts should be shaped and joined. Now top the other sides until every hart is completely covered.

Melt your white chocolate and decorate beautifully.

Aaaaand DONE! :)
